Day 1

  • Arrive in Barbados

  • Pick up a pre-booked car from Soutes Car Rental; recommend a Jeep, roads are mostly decent throughout the island but can get bumpy in parts

  • Drive (c. 30 minutes) to ECO Lifestyle & Lodge; located on the unspoilt east coast, this guesthouse is the perfect location to explore the island. Their restaurant is fantastic, serving breakfast and dinner with all food locally sourced.

Day 2 (exploring the southeast, St Phillip region)

  • Morning at Bottom Bay; a more remote beach but definitely worth a visit to this stunning setting

  • Drive to Crane Beach for lunch at The Grove Beach Bar and Grill; a well-located beach bar serving the essentials, the tacos were delicious

  • Afternoon on Crane Beach

  • Back to hotel in time for dinner at the Atlantis Hotel; a short walk from the guesthouse, with ocean views and good local food

Bottom Bay is a must when in Barbados

Day 3 (west, St Peter | St James regions)

  • Drive for a morning on Mullins Beach, get a sunbed from Adrian’s Bar

  • Lunch at Sea Shed; a chic beach-side restaurant serving fantastic tapas and pizza

  • Drive to Lone Star for an afternoon on their beach

  • Dinner at Lone Star; a laid-back but glamorous restaurant, perfect for a sundowner and exquisite local dishes

Day 4 (north-west, St Lucy | St Peter regions)

  • Lazy morning at hotel or if a surfer, drive to Maycocks; park up and follow the path from here, down the hill and to the left. You’ll need to bring your own board as it is a little remote and no rentals are available. More details on Barry’s Surf School.

  • Drive to Fish Pot; have a few hours on their beach, bring a mask and snorkel as they have some reefs to explore

  • Late lunch at the Fish Pot; overlooking the sea, serves fresh fish dishes and the perfect spot for a long lunch

  • Enjoy a sundowner on their jetty

  • Drive back for dinner at hotel

Swim with turtles with Calabaza Cruises

Day 5 (south-west, St James | St Michael regions)

  • Drive for a morning on Batts Rock Beach

  • Lunch at La Cabane; a rustic beach restaurant, with a relaxed vibe but serving excellent local food

  • Sunset Cruise and Dinner with Calabaza Cruises, more intimate than some of the other provides. You’ll see turtles and snorkel the shipwrecks in Carlisle Bay, then enjoy some drinks and nibbles watching the sun go down - a must when in Barbados

Day 6 (east, St Joseph | St John regions)

Day 7 (west, St. James region)

  • Day at Folkstone Marine Park Beach, bring your mask and snorkel

  • Sundowners at Il Tempio; a shoreside restaurant serving exceptional cocktails, happy hour is Friday & Sunday 4-7pm

  • Drive for dinner at Tides; a fine dining experience, serving local cuisine in a stunning setting

Day 8 (southwest, St Michael | Christ Church)

  • Wake up early to catch the sunrise, drive up and park on Edge Cliff road, then follow the path to this point.

  • Check-out of ECO Lifestyle & Lodge after Breakfast

  • Drive for the morning on Browns Beach; if you bring your mask and snorkel, you can swim out to the shipwrecks

  • Drive to Miami Beach for the afternoon

  • Late lunch at Cafe Luna or head to Oistins Fish Fry

  • Drive to airport (c. 10 minutes), fly home.
